This is just a repost of some Korra storyboard work I did for Season one.

I just found out about this and I think this sort of idea is Great!! For me it isn't just about the project they are making but about telling the world for as little as one dollar that we still love 2D.Take a look and decide for yourself.

I wanted to let everyone know that my last day on Korra was March 7 about a week ago. We finished up another great season of boards and Bryan and Mike are waiting on the animation.

I wanted to take a moment to say what a wonderful experience it was working with some of the most talented people in animation today. The Korra crew was more then just talented artists or good friends but far more like a family who i will truly miss. We have made some great shows that I am sure you will all enjoy and I cant wait for you to see them.

I have started my new job with a new group of artists at DreamWorks tv and so far we are off to a great start. After 3 years on Korra its exciting to get on to a new project in a new style with my old friend Erik Wiese. You might know him as the co-creator of the Mighty B.

P.S. I will start to post some new art work once i settle in.
This is just a repost of some Korra storyboard work I did for Season one.
Just re posting Cuz some people had questions about it.

My sister just co-directed an independent movie called Zero Charisma. I just recently watched it and its GREAT!!! I just loved it and I'm so proud of her not just because she set out to make this movie 3 years ago and fought tooth and nail to get the funding but also she and her fiancÚ made a wonderful film on a super small budget. The movie will go on sale this October 8 on iTunes and other online outlets and I urge you to purchase it. It's a great movie and it's a good way to support today's indie film market.  So take a look , spread the word and help out a young artist making tomorrow's indie films.

Thanks

Ian

I know it's been a long time since I posted anything but working on the Legend of Korra takes up a large part of your life, leaving not much room for posting on DA.   I first want to apologize for not responding to all the notes I have been sent over the last year or so but again Korra is ALOT of work and I often want to respond but never seem to get around to it. I am truly sorry.

Next, I want to thank Bryan, Mike, Ryu ,Lauren and Joaquim for letting me Direct on such an amazing show. This group of people including the other Directors Collin, Mel and all the artists who work on the show are some of the most talented people anyone in animation could work with. We are all so proud of what we have created on Korra and can't wait to share it with the world.

Trust me what's to come on Korra will kick some serious butt, I hope you guys will like it as much as we do.

I have made a Youtube video of my Storyboard work from Korra season one and will include a link below. I get lots of requests to see examples of my storyboard work so now that it has been on the air for over 2 years I think I can share it with you.

It is important to note that this is not an animatic but just roughly timed storyboard work playing straight from Storyboard pro. An animatic would be much slicker with better timing. I think for all you young animators or storyboard artists this will help as a learning tool.

Hope you like.

First, I want to thank everyone for the great comments about LOK ep 3.  I read them all.  Some were long but it's still a blast to read all your thoughts on the episodes.
So what do you think of ep 4 or ep 5,  for that matter how are you enjoying things as a whole so far?
I think you should have a good feel for the story and the look of LOK and I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks

So the long wait for season one of Korra is over and now the ball is in your court. I hope you all watch and enjoy the episodes as much as we enjoyed making them. I have never worked with a more dedicated hard working crew than on Korra, both here and our overseas studio Mir. We are currently working hard on season 2 and so far it looks great!!! So many twists and turns, Mike and Bryan never stop pushing the stories and art of the Avatar universe.

Feel free to let me know what you think of the first few episodes, the good and the bad.   I love hearing what the fans of the show think.

First off I would like to say sorry for not posting anything for some time. I have been up to my eyeballs in work and I dont see any end in site. This is a good thing but something that will keep making it hard to post.     On other news, I am now Directing on Korra and its been a blast. Working with this crew is like working with a well polished S.W.A.T team. The season 1 episodes are getting all finished up and they look amazing!!!!! I cant wait till you all get to see them! Other than that I dont have allot to post but when Korra starts airing I will post some of the drawing I did for the episodes  aired.

First I want to thank everyone who put together the Avatar fan panel at SDCC and most of all :iconethereal-glutton:  She was great and made things run smooth as ice.
I  want to thank the Avatar fans who showed up!  A great group who I know will not be disappointed in Korra.   I would also like to thank my friends:iconbobbyrubio: :iconrufftoon: who went to support me and the panel . I hope you guys all had a good time!  I know I did! Seeing the great costumes and all the enthusiasm for Avatar and Korra just warms my heart!
I can't wait to see all the Korra, Mako,Bolin and Amon costumes next year!!!!

I also went  to  the Korra panel  and I would like to say as good as the presentation Mike , Bryan and the guys put together it was only the tip of the iceberg of super coolness you will be getting when Korra hits the air!
I will be posting some of my Korra art when the episodes that my work pertained to airs . So keep a look out for that.
One last thing if you did not make it to the SDCC Korra panel this is a link to the trailer .
