I just found out about this and I think this sort of idea is Great!! For me it isn't just about the project they are making but about telling the world for as little as one dollar that we still love 2D.Take a look and decide for yourself.…

Oh, and if you like this idea get the word out and post it.

I’m Ian Graham. I’ve worked in Animation for over 10 years, most of which was storyboarding. After lots of encouragement from my friends in animation, I’m using Deviant Art to show my professional and personal work. Now, the bulk of what you will see are drawings but I have thrown in some color work from my student years and hopefully I will be adding new color work as I try to do more work for myself.

I am lucky enough to have worked on great shows with amazingly talented people involved. Some of the shows I have worked on include:
Pig Goat Banana Cricket
The Legend of Korra
The Cleveland Show
GI Joe Resolute
The Mighty B
Avatar the Last Airbender
Spongebob Squarepants
Danny Phantom
Fairly Odd Parents
and Invader Zim, just to name a few.

I have found that over the years you learn the most from working with the best. So, when choosing what jobs to take I choose the ones with the largest talent pool.
My influences are quite different. Everything from FLCL to Ren and Stimpy. I love Anime and UPA old school and new school. It’s all good.

I’m taking a different approach to showing my professional work. Normally, when presenting storyboards you show the boards but in this case I’m going to show panels, not entire boards. If I was up for a job I would present my board, but the main focus in this case is individual shots and the drawings behind them. What’s nice about this is sometimes boards can get technical and that’s only fun to look at if you storyboard. This way we don’t have to deal with separated pans, ols and s/a . Plus one storyboard sequence can be anywhere from 100 to 300 pages.

One other thing, I will be updating the artwork when time permits but I am bad at responding to comments, and when I do respond it tends to be short like “COOL“ or “Thanks“ or even “That hurts“, but I’ll do my best to respond.

Oh, and I also want to give special thanks to Nickelodeon who I have spent 8 of my 11 years in animation with. The people at Nick have taken good care of me.

Silly question..but are you related to Christofer Graham? I know there's plenty of people with the same last name but It's just funny because you both worked at/for Nick, correct me if I am mistaken. I would love to break into storyboarding some day... you're a good artist to look up to, keep on rockin' Ian!

I am studying for animation in Chicago Illinois and it has always been a dream to work for such a big network and work on amazing shows that everyone can see. You're truly amazing cause i know how difficult the process can be. If you have any advice for a rookie that would be great! Thanks :D

Hey! i currently am studying animation, i REALLY want to get into story boarding but I'm having difficulty with it. my current prof has worked in the industry, mostly disney and commercial based, yet i can't seem to get through her approach of story boarding. I was wondering if i can get some advice on how to improve my boards and make them more clear? My issue isn't the story, its the persecution of presenting the story through the boards. Much appreciated!

(By the way I grew up with Danny Phantom and honestly will never stop loving it, especially the drawings of its storyboard.)
